A Positive Postpartum Exclusive: The Babymoon Retreat
Updated: Sep 10, 2019
The time immediately following birth is precious. It should never just be a sequel to delivery or just a time for postpartum recovery. When a child is born time seems to stop in its tracks, as past, present and future meet. This sense of miraculous incarnation and transcendence often floods in with the arrival of a new being. When a couple slows down, tunes in and feels at home in which they meet this new life there is a special radiance that lasts forever. You need not conform to any standard, be self-consciously on your best behavior, or worry about what other people are thinking of you. Instead you are free to focus entirely on the baby.
No matter where you birth your baby, a long period of postpartum nurturing is essential. Traditionally, women have always had a "lying-in" time, a period of seclusion in which they could concentrate on the new baby and be cared for by other women. It remains the ritual ideal in many cultures and it has powerful impact on the childbearing woman that lasts forever.
Positive Postpartum's mission is to minimize stress and maximize joy. As a postpartum doula (USA) I have seen all types of family scenarios where parents are exhausted, anxious, overwhelmed and overjoyed all at the same time. Moms and Dads are too often losing sight of a precious window of time to integrate parenthood, bond with baby and set forth with a positive state of mind. Before you know it reality sits in even further and it's time to go back to work. The Babymoon Retreat was created because American families deserve better postpartum care. American families deserve to be treated like Queens and Kings when welcoming their newest little ones into the world.
What is a Babymoon Retreat?
Imagine being able to honor your transformation, and integrate parenthood, in a calm, soothing, non-stimulating environment of your own home. Imagine ceremonial traditions for you to honor the rite of passage of parenthood. Imagine being be nourished and supported; mental, physically and spiritually.
To put it simply, The Babymoon Retreat is an unhurried 40 days to welcome the baby, honor the life transition and bond with the growing family. It's time to integrate the pregnancy and birth experience, learn how to respond to one another and start breastfeeding at your own pace and in your own way. The 40 days after birth are a time when the new mother is exempt from her usual tasks, and she receives special attention, nourishing foods, and loving support from other women in her home as she crosses over the bridge into motherhood. It's an opportunity for the woman to be reborn, to see the world with new clarity and to have a positive, transformational and unforgettable experience at the beginning of her newborns life. Why not make it one of the best, most unforgettable times in your new family's life? A time to cherish each other, intimately, in your own sanctuary and be cared for by a Positive Postpartum professional in the comfort of your home. Life has a new shape with a newborn and if you already have a child, this oasis in time is one that nurtures your older child's transformation too.
I have spent May-August furthering my holistic trainings in Sacred Womb Reiki, Yoga, Meditation, Ayurveda, and transformational Women's Retreats. I am incorporating all these elements into The Babymoon Retreat, a Positive Postpartum platinum service package to families in the Denver and surrounding areas.
